The Ten Contents For Email Marketing - A Guide For Your Content

Thou shall not use industry words in your email marketing

It's very important when you write the content for your email marketing that you ditch the industry words. These are words that are commonplace to you every day, but the consumer may not understand them. If you want your emails to be opened, be conscious of which words are industry words!

Thou shall get to know the consumer before sending your email marketing campaign

I can't stress this tip enough. In order to keep your readers interested, you must know what your consumer's interests are and how it can apply to your business. This important common link between you and your reader can make or break your email marketing campaign. If you have nothing interesting or in common with your reader, it's unlikely they will open your email.

Thou shalt write an attention grabbing subject line in your email marketing campaigns

You have very little time to grab and keep your reader's attention when you are doing an email marketing campaign. It's very important that your subject line is designed to draw the reader's attention enough to open the email fully. But, be careful not to use words or symbols that the ISP providers will think are spam.

Thou shalt keep it short

Consumers are looking for information quickly. If you have too much information on your page, you are less likely to keep their attention. But, don't worry.... if you want to share tons of information, you can always make short newsletters and send them out more often.

Thou shalt have links

Make sure you have plenty of links to "more info" or to "special deals".

Thou shalt make them laugh

Try to be entertaining when you write in order to keep your reader's attention. An advertisement that make your readers laugh is much more likely to be read and shared across the internet when it is fun.

Thou shalt give them tips

Weekly tips are a great way to keep them interested. Giving out tips can generate interaction between you and your consumer. It is also a great way of touching your readers with information on new products.

Thou shalt personalize your campaign

It's a great idea to tell a story or to somehow personalize your email in some way. You can talk about personal experiences and/or even about your dog. It will keep the attention much better than purely talking about product.

Thou shalt use subtitles in your email marketing

Using subtitles is a great way for the reader to quickly scan your email for information they are interested in. You will want to make sure that your subtitles stand out by writing them in bold or using a larger font.

Thou shalt make your "From" address lead to a real person

A personable email is much more likely to be read than one that comes from an automated service. Email addresses that you can get for free can look like they are not real to the reader.

The Team

Founded in 1997 by Dan Elliott, InteloQuence actually began much earlier, in the 1950's.

You see, Fred Elliott placed his two sons, Daniel and Steven into hi own advertising and design firm's ads for both clients and for the agency itself.

The brothers were, quite literally, born into an ad career. Years later, Elliott was able to draw on a lifetime of experience from the agency business.
